"Leroy" at the 2011 All American PRCA Finals. He is a sorrel gelding out of a SMART LITTLE LENA son, LITTLE BIT OF SMARTS. His sire is the son of an NCHA Triple crown winner and his dam is a triple crown producer. Teddy Johnson (2x AQHA World Champion Trainer) said of Little Bit of Smarts, "Smarts is an incredible athlete with a huge stop, he can really handle tough cattle while also having the ability to look classy". This is as close a description of Leroy as I could make! His dam, Candyapple Sugar Bar is a daughter of Sugar Bars Jr., an own son of Sugar Bars. She's a granddaughter of Sugar Bars, not many of them left, she's 27. Dr. Nick Bar (Sire of Lindsey Sears NFR horse Sugar Moon Express 'Martha') is also grandson of Sugar Bars, so is Fire Water Flit, sire of Kelly Yates 'Firewater Fiesta'. Both are now deceased. Sire is pictured at top far left and dam pictured at far right.

Leroy runs in hard to the first and you can push him all the way in and he'll inhale the first. No need to check or say whoa! Just sit down and enjoy the ride. He is super easy to run on the barrels and has a smooth way of moving that keeps you centered and balanced. No bouncing around on this guy! No jamming his front end in the ground or hopping around the barrels. He has a really nice way of 'dying' into a turn that is very easy to stay with. He is also very easy to warm up and has a western pleasure way of moving. Drags his butt to stop with just a flick of the wrist or just say 'whoa'. However, he gets a little excited before a run and is hard to keep still but buddies up to ANY other horse and stands well then. He leaves hard in the alley and I don't think he's suited for a kid. He's pretty powerful. Super temperment, not a mean hair on him and loves people.
WPRA $ WON!!!
I hauled Leroy this past summer all over the country to PRCA rodeos and he hauls the best I've ever seen. All the way to Reno and back, Cheyenne, WY and back and was always ready to eat, drink and ride. Weeks on the road and he loved it! He's had dental every 6 months, chiro every six months or as needed but never needs much. He has a bad scar on front left foot, vet records available. Vet says it's not a problem and it's a year old. He's truly easy to deal with on every level, legged up and being run as much as possible.

Finished gelding. Ready to go. Just keep him legged up and haul on the weekends. Runs in hard but the minute you sit is the minute he turns. WILL NOT run by a barrel. Comes running hard to the first. Knows his job well and loves it. This horse has A LOT of energy and always fights you to get into the alley, so i would not recommend him for the faint of heart. He is all business. He was breed, raised, and trained to run barrels and that’s exactly what he does.
